PHIL ROBERTS has been involved with music since his schooldays in Sheffield, where he attended the same school as Joe Cocker and like his former schoolmate,he tried his hand as a drummer/vocalist with a number of local rock'n'roll bands and once declined the offer to to join the city's top band at the time 'Dave Berry and the ’Cruisers’ In the mid sixties he married a Sandgrounder and moved to Southport, where he and his wife Dorothy and family have lived ever since. 

After settling in Southport his "day job" as a heating engineer kept him busy for a while, but it wasn't long before his love of music,found him getting involved in the business once again and he has worked at just about every aspect of it.

MANAGER/AGENT-for award winning acts like The Ben Rees Band and Kickin' the Dust. CONCERT PROMOTER presenting legendary acts such as Bill Haley's Comets,Dennis Locorriere (Dr.Hook),Karl Denver, Charlie Gracie,Vernon Oxford etc. STAGE SHOW PRODUCER- "Rock Back the Clock","Three Steps to Paradise" and also appeared in the successful touring production "Legend of the Sixties" MUSIC COLUMNIST- for "International Country Music News" and Southport publications - The Star,The Visiter and Advertisor.  His radio work started as PRESENTER for 'Southport Hospital Radio' in the early 80's.Since then he's guested on many north-west radio stations (Red Rose, Piccadilly,BBC's Lancashire and Merseyside) and once presented a programme on one of Britain's first 'community radio stations' - Radio Thamesmead(London).  Phil also worked on all the RSL's,with the team that won the licence for 'Dune fm' and went on to present his very popular country music programme for six years. 

 He now presents a weekly programme for the Knowsley commercial radio station 'KCR fm' and looks forward to working with the team at SOUTHPORT COMMUNITY RADIO for a fourth time and hopes once again to provide the town with its own local radio station.
