Light Switch On 2008

		*Southport Light Switch-On, 16th November 2008*

Southport was full of life on Sunday, for the annual Champion Christmas Light Switch-on. Parents & children lined Lord St. to await the parade, while others preferred to enjoy the entertainment at the front of the Arts Centre.

One highlight of the day was that the rain stayed at bay which made it a more enjoyable day for everyone concerned!

Jon Jessop & Mike Swift toke to the stage shortly after 2pm, to entertain and introduce the bands ect.

They also invited John Cooper from Dune 107.9 to the stage to talk about their joint toy appeal.

First band to the stage were ‘The Marmosets’, These guys rocked!. They played two 45minute slots.

Playing all the classic hits from the 60’s, ‘The Marmosets’ have backed many famous groups such as the Yardbirds, The Spencer Davies Group & Kingsize Taylor & The Dominoes to name a few.


	While Jon & Mike were enjoying themselves - i mean working hard outside the arts center the rest of the team were up at pleasure land getting the bus ready for the parade,
